How to make the Mississippi Valley fair favorites
If you consider yourself a chef or have been craving MVF food, we’ve created a list of 10 fair foods you can make at home. You should have most of these cookware at home for food preparation but double-check before purchasing the ingredients.
We’ve created this list based on our list of the top 5 Mississippi Valley favorite foods in the Quad Cities. There are some foods on that list that you need to go to a restaurant for, but you can make some at home. We also looked at the Fair Food Vendor’s menu to see what other favorites are out there that you can eat.
PRO / SAFETY TIPS
We want to make sure you don’t burn yourself or your home when making some of these foods.
- Some deal with using hot oil, so make sure you follow the recipes as closely as possible and make sure you have a fire extinguisher near you
- Start Put water on grease fire.
- If your kids want to help, make sure you as an adult do the cooking part. Let them help mix the mixture or put butter on things.
- Let things cool for a while so you or your children don’t burn your mouth.
- Watch the video, save the recipe and watch the video again before you start the cooking process.
- Don’t get discouraged! If you fail the first time, try again. Cooking is fun and stress in the kitchen can be dangerous. Also, no one likes a crappie cook.
