A Brazilian restaurant with vibrant interiors, a new hot spot where vinyl records are in the spotlight and a huge restaurant and bar that will transport you to old Las Vegas. Bengaluru is off to a great summer with a plethora of new restaurants and bars adding to the city’s reputation as one of the food and beverage capitals of India. The city’s restaurant and bar scene is making a stunning comeback after the pandemic with restaurateurs ready to step out of their comfort zones. All you have to do is make these weekend plans.

There is a good chance that you will come across Chef Gutu Sousa if you visit one of the most popular food and beverage hotspots in Bengaluru. His passion for his authentic Brazilian cuisine was the impetus for Boteco which generally refers to a place for great drinks and easy conversation. Botico embodies the essence of the Brazilian watering hole with a focus on quality, delicious food. The interiors are lively with plenty of natural light and stunning murals that fit the ‘gram. Our favorites on the menu include Bolinho De Aipim (fried cassava and cheese croquettes) and the huge meatloaf. But the lemon mousse made from Chef Goto’s Mama’s recipe we can’t wait to get back to.

Borough of Bombay

An oasis in the heart of Bengaluru’s central business district, this new restaurant is located in a sprawling heritage bungalow. The Bombay region embodies modern India through an explosion of local and regional flavours. There is a mango tree at its heart and provides the perfect backdrop for a large outdoor seating area. The interior section is a mixture of artistic rooms adding to the bohemian vibe with hand-painted ceramic wall panels and modern art. Indian regional ingredients come to the fore in tastefully curated cocktails that include our favorite – Memsaab’s Pink Gin. Their menu takes you through the culinary capitals of India with signatures like Kolhapuri Lamb Chops, Mishti Doi Praline Cheesecake and Toddy Shop’s fish curry from Kerala.

There is something in this name that transports you to another time and place with classic cocktails and parties that go on forever. Bannerghata’s new nightclub is based on the “Gatsby” brand with an immersive experience. Spread over 28,000 square feet with partitions opening to the sky, Gatsby aims to recreate the vibe of old Vegas. The music continues and the classic, artistically served cocktails add to the experience. The menu is varied with room for both Pan Asian and Indian. But it’s their European signatures that bring the guests back

India’s first craft beer and vinyl tape rides on this resurgence and offers over 200 vinyl records across genres and decades covering everything from Led Zeppelin to Lady Gaga. The focus is on delving into the beauty of analog music even while sipping on handcrafted beer.

It takes its name from the Sumerian goddess of love and all good things. This new coffin room aims to create an alternate world with cabanas and palm trees, a sharp contrast from the hustle and bustle of Bengaluru. From beer to beer, the tap keeps the beer coming. But Innanna isn’t just a place for beer connoisseurs, their signature cocktails have hit the spot, too. Most regulars swear by “Pretty Ugly” which combines Oleo Saccharum, Gin, Lavender Tonic, and Blue pea Tea. The menu offers classic Indian flavors with modern cooking techniques.

Sachai Taprom + Kitchen

This massive 260 seater space aims to recreate and celebrate the charm of ‘old Bangalore’. Modern sentiment meets nostalgic charm in a space with an emphasis on greenery and colorful furnishings. Laid out as the neighborhood tap room, Sashay has 12 beers and an in-house selection of over 30 craft brews. Its diverse menu celebrates international cuisine with everything from sashimi to pizza in the mix. Truffles, crystal dumplings, wasabi, taco boconcini and peri-peri crispy chicken wings are among the bestsellers.
