This Sunday, July 17th is National Ice Cream Day, and Four Fat Cows celebrates by offering customers buy-and-get-half ice cream of any size.

Chuck’s Fish is now open every day

Chuck’s Fish, located on West Broad Street downtown, is now open seven days a week from 4 to 10 p.m.

Royal Farmer closed July 18-24

The Royal Peasant, a British-style restaurant located on Lumpkin Street, will be closed July 18-24 for cleaning and summer vacation. The restaurant will reopen for lunch on Monday 25 July.

Valley’s Creamery Opening

Valleys creamery, a new ice cream shop located inside The Café on Lumpkin, recently opened for business. The shop is open from 5 to 9 pm on Friday and Saturday. Joe Nedza, of Nedza’s, in collaboration with The Café on Lumpkin, created the concept for the new store. Some of the ice cream flavors include Tall, Dark, and Handsome, a mix of coffee ice cream, toffee chunks and chocolate chunks. Lindy’s Christmas Cake Ice Cream; And Valley Pie, A Combination Of Vanilla Ice Cream And Bits Of Sticky Brown Sugar Pie And Praline Sauce.

Southern Brewing Company’s medals at the US Open Brewery Championship

Southern Brewing Company won a gold medal in the American-style fruit beer category for the Tangerine Fruit Flash category at the 2022 US Open Brewery. The brewery also won silver medals for Cuchulainn Irish Red in the Irish Red Ale category and Barrel-Aged Cuchulainn in the Barrel category. -Aged Pale Beer.

For appetizers, customers can choose from four different Italian-style dishes: lasagna, pasta dipalma, pasta margherita, or chicken scallopini.

Lunch and special national dinner

At The National, customers can have a special meal for lunch, dinner, or both. The lunch special is $15 per person and includes Rosalynn Carter’s cheese ring and a selection of salad lunches or chicken salad. The $35 dinner special includes stuffed medjool dates to start. Then customers can choose the market fish, fly chicken or vegetable dish. To finish off the meal, customers will be served a Basque peach cake, infused with the flavors of summer.

Farm Burger Special Dinner

Farm Burger offers a dinner special serving any two burgers on the board and a basket of fries for $25. The restaurant sources its ingredients from local organic farms, so customers will not only save money on this offering, but will also support farmers and businesses in the Athens community.

Mama Boy’s Special Lunch

Whether on Poplar Street or at The Falls, customers can be a part of Mama’s Boy’s lunch special. The $15 two-course lunch features bell pepper and bacon stuffed green tomatoes with chili and garlic aioli followed by skewers of Cajun shrimp with alfredo mac and cheese and cooked local vegetables. This is served with the biscuit that Mama’s Boy is usually famous for. Additionally, Mama’s Boy offers a $5 mini peach cake with whipped cream and peach syrup.
