Let’s face it. true blue Southern charm Fans don’t need a spoiler alert to know that the romantic relationship between Catherine Dennis and Sheleb Ravenel went all the way back in November 2021; The news was all over the tabloids, Instagram and TikTok. However, neither side spoke to the press about the split when it happened, so what we’re seeing diminishes between these two Southern charm Season 8 helps fill in the blanks about why and how the split occurred.
Back in Episode 1, we witness Katherine’s well-known and well-established flip-flop, as she fully awakens returning cast member Naomi Olindo before directing her anger toward her (at the time) main pressure, ostensibly out of bitterness to engage in conversation with Venita (one of Katherine’s many friends), And then, she fails to escort her out of her ‘Great Katsby’ 30th birthday party before her legendary nerve blew. Episode 2 finds Shelp seeks solace and relationship advice from his (very long-winded) mom, and now in this exclusive Decider clip from Southern charm In Season 8 Episode 3, we see these two share a painful and confusing dinner together.
A few brief notes (it is best to consume after watching the clip above):
- Yes, the coating technique Catherine uses here won’t exactly fly, say, at Le Bernadin (or even at The Original Beef of Chicagoland), but it’s worth noting that this is a dish she eats herself; Chleb has more food, more ingredients, and noticeably better presentation. Catherine’s scattered bowl of scattered meatballs, much like her life, is undisturbed; You might even say that she served herself metaphorically.
- Looking at Chleb’s watch, this conversation appears to be taking place over about 20 minutes in real time. I’m actually kind of a fan of Catherine here; She remains calm, rational, and most impressive, and avoids giving in to the storm she just knows is going on inside of her. clearly defines her needs and wants; We can only assume she had a dry round of this conversation with her therapist.
- “I didn’t know what to buy.” brother. Come on. What you “get” is to do with Hurricane Katherine! Her life, warts and all, has been all over TV for the past decade. She has two children. Her infamous ex-boyfriend. If you didn’t know what you were getting into before you dated her, let alone before you moved in with her, then that’s on you.
As mentioned above, we already know that this relationship is not long for the world. But how will it end? We’ll have to keep watching to find out. Until then, pass the grits, but please hold the meatballs.
