Ingredients

Cherry filling:

  • 5 cups fresh cherry (incited)
  • 2 big spoons sugar
  • 2 small spoons Corn Starch *
  • 1 small spoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ small spoon Almond extract

Cherry cobbler topping:

  • ½ cup ghee (slushy)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 small spoon Baking powder
  • ¼ small spoon salt
  • sparkling sugar (sprinkle on top)

instructions

  • Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Cherry pits, by removing the pits. Put the cherries in a bowl and stir with the sugar extracts, cornstarch, vanilla, and almonds.

  • In a medium-sized bowl, add the melted butter, sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir together until all ingredients are combined.

  • Pour the cherries into an 8-inch baking tray. Roll the cobbler into balls and flatten them with the palm of your hand. Place over the cherries, trying to cover most of the cherries. Sprinkle a little sugar on it.

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cherry juices have boiled and the top layer of cobbler is a light golden color.

  • Remove from the oven and leave for 15 minutes to allow the juices to prepare. Served with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • I suggest using fresh cherries but if you want to use frozen cherries, I suggest increasing the cornstarch to 1-2 tablespoons.
