Green thumb, great dishes

I love gardening – especially when you produce fruits and vegetables that can be shared with family and friends.

I am always amazed at watching the growth in a garden, and how its bounty can feed families. The possibilities are endless – canning, blanching, baking, frying, and most importantly eating the delights that sprout from the ground.

My garden currently produces spinach, collard greens, Swiss chard, kale and much more. This week, I thought we’ll explore the many green varieties and how they can be used in simple cooking and canning.

I love working the land and growing varieties for delicious appetizers and side dishes. It’s amazing how many ideas something growing in your own backyard can spark. Enjoy sharing a meal at home with family and friends this summer!
