Head over to the next dinosaur fair in Warretown, NJ

It’s dinosaur summer! With the latest “Jurassic Park” (Dominion) movie already surpassing $600 million in gross box office revenue worldwide, prehistoric monsters will be hard to avoid this summer.

Well, for less than the price of an average single movie ticket, you can take your kids on a dinosaur adventure in Warretown on July 9 and 10. You are driving in front of them.

It has been described as part education, part entertainment, and is aimed at children up to the age of 12.

The show will take place at Corliss Park Lake and Recreation Area. The event runs from 9 AM to 5 PM on both days. Tickets cost $12 per vehicle load and can be ordered here.

Some of the walking dinosaurs that you will meet include Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Iguanodon, Pteranodon, T-Rex, Carnotaurus, and Velociraptor.

The attraction’s owner, Ted Hill, told WTOP radio how the show works:

“Every dinosaur is framed in metal or stainless steel, and inside has engines and operational equipment that keeps it moving,” Hill said. “When someone is walking up to the dinosaurs, there’s the infrared light that triggers the movement of the dinosaur. It makes noises, it makes noises, and the eyes move, so for a lot of young children, it’s the real deal.”

The ride takes about 15 minutes to complete and there is an audio tour that you can listen to on your cell phone to help guide you and provide context for what you see (and hear).
