Sioux City – Mike Pompeo, the former Secretary of State and former director of the CIA during the Trump administration, will deliver the keynote address at the annual Siouxland Chamber of Commerce dinner in September.
The department announced that Pompeo will take over as spokesperson Wednesday afternoon. The 36th Annual Dinner, a prominent room event, will be held September 22 at the Sioux City Convention Center.
Pompeo gave a video speech Wednesday at the chamber’s announcement ceremony.
“Hi, this is Mike Pompeo. Being from Kansas, I am always excited to join my colleagues in the Midwest as we discuss the issues facing America and the world. That is why I am so excited to be joining the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce in Sioux City on September 22. I look forward to seeing you all There,” Pompeo said in his video remarks.
Pompeo, as the Chamber indicated in the announcement materials, is the only person in US history who has been the Secretary of State and Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Edwards Deming Award for Entrepreneurship and Business Excellence, the 2021 Ambassador of the Year recognition, and will present the Sailor of the Year award to members of the USS Sioux City’s Blue and Gold crews.
Dinner reservations cost $100 per person for Siouxland room members and $120 for out-of-room members.
