St. Paul Minnesota (WCCO) – The Minnesota State Fair has unveiled its menu of new food, drink and vendors for its 2022 event, and as usual, there are some delicious items – and head scratchers.

Of course, all fried food is back on the stick, fair-goers will also notice a culturally diverse selection of foods and more vegetarian-friendly options.

The Herbivorous Butcher is a newcomer to the show this year offering delicious vegetarian options with a horror movie theme. Poultrygeist features fried chicken with sausage gravy and fried onions on Texas toast. Similar to Steak-xorcist but features fried chicken steak instead of fried chicken.

The Arepa Bar will also appear inside the downtown market for the first time this year.

Visitors can find arepas served in three ways – pulled pork, pulled chicken, and a vegetarian option. To wash it all down, people can have a delicious summer drink made from sugar cane with fresh lemon juice.

Both said they were grateful to be a part of the show and to introduce the Monsef goers to new flavors they might not have tried before.

“I was born and raised in Venezuela, and this is one of the most important things I can do to truly show the Venezuelan culture,” said Solly Ramirez, Head Chef at Arepa Bar.

said Aubrey Walsh, co-owner of The Herbivore Butcher.

The herbivorous butcher will be at the fair every day, but the Arepa Bar is only on for the last six days of the fair.
