REVIEW: Passion Fruit Tea Preserved Today in China Market for EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival 2022

With so many delicious restaurants in the China Pavilion, it’s hard to believe we’d recommend checking out this food stall in those locations, but we totally do! Every year for the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, we never leave the China booth unsatisfied.

Fried Chicken Dumplings With Homemade Sweet & Spicy Sauce $5

China-2021-dumpling-chicken-2

These were chewy and over cooked. They didn’t have much flavor from the filling. Since there is a lot of “spicy” red sauce on the outside, it is not very hot. Otherwise, the sauce is good, with a bit of a chili flavor.

Mongolian Beef Bao Bun with Onions – $7.25

The meat is very dry but well seasoned. The only thing that really stands out is the onion. All in all, it needs more texture and will benefit from a little crunch. Wow, there was a ton of onions on the back end.

*NEW* Dandan Noodles: Spicy Pork with Sichuan Sauce, Peanut Butter, Sesame, and Spring Onions – $8.25

This is an oddly spicy attempt at Pad Thai. It’s the wrong spice for china, which distracts from the rest of the flavors. It tastes a must have in India.

*NEW* Passion Bubble Tea (Non-Alcoholic) – $7.25

This was a refreshing hot weather drink. Passion fruit is not very sweet, and there is a touch of carbonation to it. However, we wish there was an alcoholic version of this, because the flavor is so much better than Good Fortune Citrus.

*NEW* Good Fortune Citrus: Triple Sec, Grapefruit, White Boba – $12

Well, it tastes like Triple Sec. It is a very sweet and citrusy drink. It has super artificial flavor, so it’s a pass for us. We would recommend the Mexico blood orange margarita instead.

ByeJoe Punch: Chinese BaiJiu Spirit, Pi帽a Colada Mix, and Lychee – $12.50

This is one of the most refreshing drinks of the festival, with subtle hints of distinctive flavour. Nothing beats, and pouring alcohol is relatively heavy. It’s a solid choice.

Fireworks: Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila ($18 per bottle), Smirnoff Vodka ($11 per bottle), Orange and Mango – $14

Ignite your taste buds with this drink, with cuervo tequila gold nuts, vodka, mango syrup, and orange juice. Jose Cuervo connoisseurs will surely know that this is golden tequila rather than silver, as the taste is very pervasive. It is also a sweet drink with a mango flavor. Overall, we found it delicious and refreshing.

Jasmine Draft Beer – $6 oz., 12 oz.

Epcot Food & Wine 2018 - China - Jasmine Draft Beer

Surprise! This one wasn’t fermented in China – or even made there! In fact, it’s brewed locally in Florida using the name Jasmine slapped, sort of like how local brewery Crooked Can made a unique draft of Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs. It’s a straight, unfiltered wheat beer with a little floral touch. Very drinkable and we think this is the only place to actually get this beer.
