A brand new pizzeria is set to open its doors in downtown Evansville and, by the looks of the menu, will offer a wide range of gourmet versions of the popular Italian dish.
While history shows that the ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks made and ate flatbread with toppings, credit for making the pizza we know and love today goes back to Naples, Italy in the 1700s. Today, you can have practically anything you want on pizza in any number of styles from thin crust to thick crust, New York style, Chicago style, Detroit style, and crusts made with ground cauliflower. Whatever your preference, there is pizza available to you from any number of restaurants.
Pangea Pizzeria announces opening date and releases full menu
Located at the corner of NW 2nd Street and Ingle Street in downtown Evansville in the space formerly occupied by 2nd Harvest in the old National Biscuit Company building, the new Pangea Pizzeria is currently in “simple open” through Saturday, July 16 (2022) from 11 :00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every day, according to Evansville 411 News on Facebook. The grand opening is set for Tuesday, July 19.
Earlier this week, the restaurant owners, who also own and operate the popular Pangea Kitchen at 111 South Plaza at the intersection of Green River Road and Lloyd Expressway, released the full list of what customers should choose from when they do so. Stop by to try out the new site on their Facebook page. By its looks, the restaurant will put its own spin on classic pizza and serve up some inspired pies from around the world that you probably won’t find anywhere else. In addition to pizza, Pangea will also offer homemade gelato and sorbitos (Italian-style ice cream).
