A sweet treat for your sweet date? It sounds like a plan! Dessert is always a great way to spend a fun-filled night. With so many dessert spots in Tampa Bay to choose from, it can be hard to pick just one place to visit after your date. So, here are some of our favorite dessert spots to help you narrow it down.
Located inside the Seminole Hardrock Hotel & Casino
Two words: Candy Wall. This very bright and fun spot has an insane array of delicious fast food on the menu, but dessert is clearly where the Sugar Factory shines. Any cream, milkshakes, candy cups filled with alcohol… the list goes on. Additionally, it is located inside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, which is packed with plenty of nightly fun.

You may have tasted homemade ice cream, but have you ever tried homemade ice cream served in a warm donut cone? The dough is the candy-covered sister to Datz, Tampa’s urban American gastropub. This whimsical restaurant has a fantasy setting that will take you back to your childhood in one bite. The range of donuts ranges from creme brulee and bacon to cereal and s’mores. From milkshakes and cheesecakes to macaroons, cupcakes and gourmet waffles, they really have it all.

Anyone who lives in Tampa knows that Bern’s Steak House is one of the most romantic restaurants in the area. But, did you know that they have a private dessert room upstairs? They offer nearly 50 dessert options and more than 1,000 types of wines and spirits. Seated in their personal booth equipped with a six-channel stereo sound system, guests are presented with a wide range of music styles including classical, jazz, progressive, contemporary, new age and even live music played by Bern’s personal pianist. A new place in South Tampa, Sucré Table has beautiful (and delicious) desserts and custom cakes. Chef Brenda Villacorta is from Tampa, but he spent years in Michelin-rated kitchens before returning home to open the Sucré Table. It’s only open Wednesday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM, so we recommend picking it up for dessert after date night. Or visit in the morning for an Italian-inspired date consisting of cappuccinos and pastries.
3251 W Bay to Bay Boulevard. Tampa, Florida 33629 Inside Toffee To Go Store
For 15 years, Toffee to Go has been spreading its delicious desserts across the country. Now, you can enjoy what they have to offer at the new in-store candy store, The Dessert Spot. A date night in Hyde Park Village with a delicious dinner at one of the many restaurants needs to finish at Sprinkles, a sweet shop with cupcakes, ice cream, and cookies. The combination of the two things we love to end dinner with is Beans and Barlor. This spot serves up lively desserts so you can grab an after-dinner cocktail and dessert all in one place. Fermented creations give our favorite childhood treat (ice cream) a fun upgrade for adults. Vegetarian options and non-alcoholic versions of each flavor are available.

Pair your sweet treat with something decadent from the menu, like the Cap’n Crunch French Toast or the famous spicy Buffalo Mac ‘n’ Cheese.

Last but not least, we turn our attention to The Cake Drip in the village of Hyde Park in south Tampa. We have two words to describe this amazing sweet spot: a sweet shop. As you enter, you will feel as if you have entered a magical secret garden with photo spots worth seeing at every turn. While the idea of decorating your own candy bar or cake sounds like a kids thing, this candy store is designed for adults. You can order a DIY cake if you’re really feeling creative with options like Drunk Barbie DIY Cake, Unicorn DIY Cake, or even free! They also offer flights with chocolate, ritebox, and flower-infused champagne – an experience you’ve never seen before. It’s a great girls’ night and definitely the perfect date night!
