Delcambre is a small town in both Iberia and Vermilion Parishes that is home to less than 2,000 people, but is also home to one of Louisiana’s best festivals, the Delcambre Shrimp Festival. Delcambre is ideally located in Bayou Carlin (also known as Delcambre Canal) which gives boats access to the deep waters for fishing and shrimp found in the Gulf of Vermilion and the Gulf of Mexico.

You can purchase individual passes when you arrive.

Keep in mind that the gates will not open until 6:30 pm on the first three days of the festival (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday); However, Saturday 20 August and Sunday 21 August are both full day events, gates will open at 9 am

It quickly grew in popularity and became one of Louisiana’s top 10 festivals, with proceeds going to more than just the fire department, but the entire community.

The tradition started in 1953 and continues every year! A local priest will come and bless the boats before the festival, asking for the protection of the crew and a bountiful harvest.

Bring your lawn chairs and set them up early for the best view!
