The District at Beltline: All 11 unique restaurants are now open in Calgary

Several different slots have opened in The District at Beltline over the past few months, and they are all open now.

Calgary’s newest inner-city destination is home to three full-service restaurants, a boutique brewery, a café, and the first food court led by YYC chefs.

Located at 11 and 12th Avenue SW in Calgary, off 2nd Street SW, this hub of food and fun is ideally located in the heart of the Beltline community.

From soaring Mediterranean cuisine to quick-serve international dishes, signature cocktails, craft beer, and fine vegetarian dining, this community center aims to create a sense of urban vibe.

Here are 11 dining spots to be found in the District at Beltline.

Takori is an Asian Taqueria Fusion restaurant, serving Korean and Mexican food that uses inspiration and flavors from both cultures. This new venue is from Chef Ly, which comes from one of Calgary’s best restaurants: Foreign Concept.

modern burger

Modern Burger is an essential Calgary spot to enjoy a mouth-watering burger. It’s moved places to join in the excitement the new food court is sure to bring, so The District at Beltline is also a great place to enjoy burgers.

Uishidsu Ramen Shack

Every great food court will need a ramen place, and chef/owner Arce Morales will provide that with an Oishidesu Ramen Shack. During his travels around Japan, Morales fell in love with Japanese cuisine, displaying this with his fresh and innovative dishes.

Bloom shrub

An incredible option for vegetarians, Shrub Bloom serves dishes with locally sourced fruits and vegetables. Soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta, and an impressive smoothie list are a healthy, vegan option in the new space.

Greenfish sushi

Greenfish is not only a delicious sushi spot, but a socially conscious place as well. Using only sushi from Ocean Wise certified green listed fish and packaged in fully compostable takeaway containers, Greenfish is “Canada’s first fully sustainable sushi meal.”

Rui’s Korean Kitchen

Roy’s Korean Kitchen has some of the best Korean food in Calgary and this cozy second spot is an incredibly exciting addition to the Beltline District.

The food here can have the feel of traditional, modern, elevated or street food style, and is often creatively combined with other types of cuisine, such as ramen carbonara on the menu.

Faucets and central food

The chef-designed pub-style menu includes nacho trays, sliders, sushi rolls, teriyaki bowls, enchiladas, burgers, and more.

The bar program seems to focus on everything, from wine to crushable cocktails like the Strawberry Spritz and Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita to handpicked local craft beer.

The space is impressive, with a wrap-around bar in the middle of the room, tons of TVs in every corner, an open kitchen, and a huge outdoor patio space.

With fresh and vibrant dishes, this spot celebrates the beauty, culture and cuisine of the Mediterranean region, with a cool ambiance with even cold drinks.

Consisting of small plates and communal style dishes, the menu is a compilation of some of the classics reimagined and many of the original dishes influenced by the surrounding regions of the Mediterranean.

33 brewing

Known for its bold black and white design, this brewery is decorated with minimalist aesthetics, as if you were just steps away from the Pacific’s forests and beaches.

33 Acres Brewing Company has a cult-like following in Vancouver and it’s incredibly exciting that Calgary now has this new concept to call it its own.

fire and flora

Canadian cuisine can be hard to define and it looks like this new venue will be a great representation of the dishes and flavours.

The Canada-focused menu at this exciting new venue will feature vegan cuisine, so expect fresh veggies and exciting flavors to enhance it.

Copper hues found in the soil, clay, and leaves in fall, as well as greenery-inspired forest greens, herbs, and foliage, add to the room’s warmth here.

Devil coffee

The coffee here is known for its high quality, using only commercial coffee beans. The ingredients that go into making espresso-style drinks in Deville are usually organic and made in-house.

Fresh and innovative sandwiches are served by Deville Coffee and they also get their baked and treated products from some of the best bakeries in Calgary.
