The Sugar Factory now serves the best drinks in San Antonio

San Antonio is getting sweeter. The Sugar Factory American Brasserie has now opened in The Shops at Rivercenter, making the location the second Texas location in a chain that stretches across the country.

Even if it’s your first time seeing a sugar factory in person, you’ve likely seen the restaurant’s oversized cocktails, extreme milkshakes, extra-plus foods, and celebrity guests on social media. Now, you will be able to see the entire attractive menu in person.

The River Walk Restaurant occupies 7,900 square feet of space in a downtown shopping center, and that’s just the main dining room. There’s also a retail space where sugar gurus can stock more than 50 tantalizing sweets displayed on the Sugar Factory’s floor-to-ceiling candy wall.

We might spoil dinner by talking about dessert first, so let’s refocus. While the Sugar Factory is best known for its dessert offerings, the company also has a full menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This includes items like the Cookie Jar Buttermilk Pancake Stack made with Oreo cookie crumbs and chocolate chips, cookie cutters dipped in an ice cream cone, and Hershey’s Cookies ‘N Cream chocolate bar. There’s also a 24k gold burger served with french fries (gold covered) and a milkshake topped with a delicious donut. The Sugar Factory also offers a spicy spaghetti dish served with shrimp and whole Maine lobster tail.

The drinks menu includes “crazy milkshakes” mixed with irresistible flavors like Nutella and garnished with cookies, Kit Kat bars and other desserts. There’s also an adult-only version called “Campfire Spiked S’mores Milkshake,” which includes whiskey.

If you’re looking for a strictly 21-year-old, there’s an extensive list of designer and tested celebrity cups for $39. For example, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson created “Soul Man,” a mixture of peach and pineapple topped with Triple Sake and Hennessy.

Since it opened in Las Vegas in 2010, the brand has become a celebrity and tourist favorite. Many stars have stopped by the additional sweet shop and restaurant that has a searchable database of photos from their visits.

But the stars aren’t the only ones taking pictures. The Sugar Factory prides itself on being gram-worthy by nature. Partner Larry Rudolph says the perfect photo setting plays a role in alluring it all.
