Cao Lanh, VietnamAnd the 5 July 2022 /PRNewswire/ – XAG, a pioneer in agricultural robotics and artificial intelligence, has officially launched its P100 large-capacity agricultural drone in VietnamIt is an innovation that supports the transition to a more productive and sustainable farming mode.
This multifunctional jet can independently carry out fine spraying, fertilizing and sowing of multiple crops such as rice and fruit trees. Its use across the farm is expected to increase yields while reducing the use of chemicals and water, helping to reduce stress and fatigue for smallholders dealing with skyrocketing fertilizer costs.
XAG P100 Agricultural Drone Provides Automation for Rice Fields in Vietnam
Versatile drone for precision farming
The P100 is XAG’s latest model of agricultural aircraft developed specifically for heavy-duty farm work. From spraying pesticides, spreading fertilizers to spreading seeds, the process is automated and targeted only where it is needed.
The XAG P100 is built in a modular detachable chassis that can completely separate the flight platform from the mission systems. As a result, the drone can flexibly switch between spray and deployment units. The handling weight is also reduced to make transportation and maintenance easier for operators.
Compared with previous versions, the XAG P100 Agricultural Drone has increased its payload to 40 kg, allowing for greater efficiency in servicing larger fields. As a drone sprinkler system, the XAG RevoSpray 2 can hold 40 liters of liquid and spray up to 10 meters in width to protect crops from existing and emerging pests.
It combines new peristaltic pumps and orifice shut-off valves With mature rotary atomization technology. This enables a high-precision spray of small droplets between sizes 60 to 400 microns. The flow rate and droplet size can be precisely controlled on the APP, so that the drone can evenly deliver chemicals to better cover crops while reducing the use of pesticides. The added sealing value inside the nozzles prevents chemical leakage during rotation and transportation of the drone.
XAG RevoCast 2 is the P100 broadcast system and reshapes the methodology for agricultural drone deployment. Redesigned with industry-Pioneering vertical spreading discs and intelligent screw feeder, which can adapt to different types of fertilizers, as well as being more windproof to avoid seed drift. With an airspeed of up to 13.8 pm/ sec, one battery pack is enough to spread 280 kg of fertilizer.
Instead of sowing rice, the XAG P100 drone can be used for direct rice sowing to ease the burden on Vietnamese farmers. When a 60 liter pellet container is installed, it distributes the rice seed evenly throughout the fields to achieve the optimum plant density and thus increase the rice yield.
Full automation to reduce labor effort
While Vietnamese farmers used to rely on manual labor to grow food, the XAG P100 can perform farming tasks with complete automation. Based on the RTK centimeter-level positioning module, the P100 is equipped with high-accuracy autonomous flight planning and navigation capability. Followed by some specific parameters on the mobile phone, the drone will operate on the preset flight path without errors or interference.
With this level of ease of use, farmers of all ages can easily continue operating the XAG P100 drone after a little training. It implies that drone technology can be deployed to benefit small farmers and bridge the digital divide Vietnam.
For now, XAG’s local distributors have organized demonstration tours to extend the range of the P100 drone across the Mekong Delta. More farmers and agricultural talent are being introduced to this new technology, making plans to adopt it to reduce costs or advance sustainable agriculture.
This May, 150 students from can tho The university, which majored in agricultural economics, became the first domestic explorer of the XAG P100 drone during a demonstration. In the 8-hectare Dorian Garden, the autonomous drone demonstrated its effective spraying, later commenting on its advantage of saving farmers time and effort.
The agricultural sector plays an important role in Vietnam Economic development and contribute significantlys For food production as the second largest exporter of rice in the world. Nearly 70% of the country’s agricultural produce comes from more than 22 million smallholders.
With the launch of its P100 farming drone, XAG looks to bring automation and sustainability to it Vietnam Assorted food basket. Small farmers will have easy access to agile and cost-effective production tools and step into the future of agriculture.
