Sweet Jesus Mango Mania
Mississauga foodies already know there’s no shortage of delicacies in Square One’s food district.
But what you may not know is that there are more delicious dishes to discover when you start ordering from the secret menu.
from June 21Street Until September 5The tenthMany vendors in The Food District offer specially created items off the menu, all inspired by the flavors of summer.
Check what’s available in the secret menu:
good christ (in cover shot): Mango Mania with soft mango, mango crumb, mango-caramel chutney, fried waffle, and half a slice of cheesecake.
Featuring a selection of ice cream shakes, milkshakes, cakes and more, Sweet Jesus has been a mainstay in The Food District since it opened in 2019.
Chocolate Brigaderos: Brigadeiro Brownie S’mores with added marshmallows.
Chocollata specializes in gourmet brigadeiros, a traditional Brazilian dessert about the size of a cupcake and usually covered with chocolate sprinkles or other sweet toppings.
Black Jack Barbecue: fried chicken and waffle.
It’s always barbecue season at Blackjack’s, which serves popular dishes like Sweet Whiskey Pork Ribs, Dinosaur beef ribs, sides including Cheddar and broccoli slaw, mashed potatoes, pork and beans, and more.
Big fat cookies: blue sundae swings. Dip in your favorite cookie for extra sweetness!
One of the best pastry spots in The Food District, it’s famous for its wide selection of cookies: everything from traditional chocolate chips to more unique offerings like Christmas cookies and red velvet white chocolate.
Hill Coffee: Blue Milk Latte.
This popular café features specialty coffees from around the world, with an emphasis on using only the highest quality coffee beans. The store’s retail section offers a wide selection of freshly roasted coffee beans and other coffee products.
Kibo Sushi House: SQ1 Premium Love Boat, including appetizers, wraps, sashimi and sushi. Serves a group of 4-5 people.
One of the newest openings in The Food District, Kibo Sushi features Japanese staples such as sushi, sashimi, noodles, bento, donburi, mochi ice cream and even a selection of sushi pizza. The shop sells various Japanese food and snack products at Kibo Market.
Tao T Leaf: Two fusion iced tea.
At Tao Tea Leaf, customers can choose from 180 teas including tea, chamomile and everything in between, as well as some special blends that won first prize in the North American Tea Championships.
La CarnittaCotija Taco, a breaded cotija with panko and egg wash, pinto beans, pickled carrots, spring onions, and cilantro.
Born from the womb of a love of art, music, and Mexican cuisine, La Carnita describes itself as “the place to enjoy a delicious taco, a handful of churros, and wash it down with a cocktail or a fresh beer.”
dal moro: Pasta alla Norma and Napolitana.
At Dal Moro’s Fresh Pasta To Go, authentic and traditional pasta dishes are made from scratch on site. Diners can choose from seven types of pasta (such as spaghetti, rigatoni, and gnocchi) and 12 different types of sauce including bolognese, pesto, and alfredo.
These secret menu items won’t be around forever, so be sure to try some the next time you’re in The Food District!
Since opening in 2019, The Food District has become Square One’s number one spot for restaurants and pop-ups alike, and currently boasts 25 unique restaurants. From tacos and sushi to ice cream and iced tea, there is something for everyone to enjoy here.
