These are the 2022 Michelin-starred restaurants in Singapore – Rob Report

The Michelin season continues in full swing, with the Little Red Guide stopping in Singapore on Tuesday to award a record number of stars.

Among the celebrants, two restaurants were upgraded from one to two stars, in addition to the seven restaurants that received their first star. In total, the number of Michelin-starred restaurants in the country rose to a record 52, up from 49 in 2021, according to Bloomberg.

“This destination has never lost what enticed our inspectors in the first place: an astonishing diversity of cuisines, celebrity chefs eager to show their passion and skills and young and promising talents ready to realize their dreams and hone their know-how,” said Gwendal Poulenic, International Director of Michelin Guide, at statement. “There is no doubt that Singapore remains a culinary gem, and thanks to the particularly remarkable flexibility of all the professionals in this field, local and international gourmets will be able to experience unforgettable gastronomic excursions in Lion City once again.”

Most notable, of course, are the restaurants that can now call themselves two-star Michelin spots: Cloud Street and Tivar. The first, from owner chef Rishi Nalendra, has international influences, with a special summer menu this year highlighting Korean fruits. The latter, from chef Manu Thivar, offers a multi-course menu inspired by India. The two restaurants join five other restaurants in the country that have retained their two stars this year.

Elsewhere, seven points have been recognized with the first Michelin star – sort of. Burnt Ends, an Australian barbecue place, has earned its first star at its new location, although it first received a star in 2018. However, the other six locations are already for the first time, including Hamamoto sushi restaurant, French- Japanese spot reef and ecstasy greens.

The announcement of the Singapore stars comes just one week after this year’s awarding of Michelin stars in the Nordic countries. And earlier this year, we learned about discount restaurants in Chicago, Florida and Dubai, and the final two with opening clues.
